Sandia National Laboratories Business Management Professional, Tonopah Test Range (Early Career) Limited-Term Employee in Tonopah, Nevada

Bidder Eligibility:

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.

This job posting is at the Member level. If a Senior or Principal level employee applies and is selected, they will be moved into the Member level and their salary will be adjusted if necessary.

Employees must remain in their current position for one year before applying for a new position, with the exception of student interns. Application of this requirement will not supersede collective bargaining agreements. Posting Duration:

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a business professional to serve as Business Management Professional for the Tonopah Test Range. This role will engage in financial management for this major testing capability site as well as needed business and operations support for the technical customers and partners at the site.

Typical tasks could include:

  • Partnering across SNL and the Nuclear Security Enterprise and representing financials with internal customers and partners, external sponsors, and technical vendors.

  • Provide decision support to leadership in various business areas including financial planning, resource management, trends and projections, and business processes.

  • Work with the technical leads to execute financial management activities including baseline cost planning and updating, cost estimation, and performance reporting and analysis

  • Team with technical staff, project leads and managers to analyze operations, processes, and resources and make recommendations to influence key decision makers.

  • Partnership with other financial and project staff supporting the site and ability to drive and influence overall team processes and consistency.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Equivalent experience in lieu of degree must be directly related experience that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.

  • Higher-level degree (MS, PhD) in relevant discipline may also be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Knowledge of financial tools and/or understanding of how to generate reports and pivot tables.

  • Experience partnering with external customers such as NNSA, USN, LANL, and KCNSC.

  • Ability/willingness to gain an understanding of the technical scope.

Security Clearance:
