NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range:

$100,900 - $166,600

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Are you a highly motivated individual with a leadership and team-oriented mindset looking to oversee the Facilities Operations organization? Join us as a Team Lead!

We are seeking a hardworking Team Lead for our organization. In this role, you would oversee members of the workforce within the team and work with the Department Manager on hiring, professional development, assessment, and performance management. The Lead promotes excellence by managing and being accountable for specific deliverables, overall team goals, schedules, performance, and staffing requirements. You would directly supervise members of the workforce who support Facilities Operations.

This position will report to the Livermore, California site and is conducive to some teleworking. Flexible work arrangements including 9/80 and 4/10 are also available.

This position oversees the following functions:

  • Material Management - Order, stock, stage, store and manage all materials and equipment associated with maintenance operations and light construction. Maintain appropriate levels of inventory including critical spare parts. Develop and implement just in time construction material process within first quarter of hire

  • Contract Management - Partner with Procurement to ensure that all contracted services are continually available without gap in service or imparting undue risk to site operations. Provide technical interface to facilitate call out, arrange access, and direct work of all contractor service providers including but not limited to security escorts, grounds keeping, custodial, and dozens of other critical services

  • Work Planning for Maintenance - Provide work planning and control for all preventive and corrective work undertaken by self-performed maintenance staff. Includes development of technical job plans, risk identification and mitigation, acquisition of materials, scheduling, and coordination with multiple stakeholders

  • IT Tools and Process Development - Partner locally and corporately with others to ensure that IT tools, internal work processes, and procedures exist and are optimized for work delivery and the changing needs of the business. A substantial effort in the area of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo) forthcoming as the existing software sunsets

  • Call Center, Workflow, Communication - Optimize the call center and workflow associated with receipt and routing of service requests, permit scheduling, expedited contract placement, and both outward and inward status communication to multiple stakeholder groups

On any given day you may:

  • Understand and guide the work of the team to ensure timely completion and performance of the work in a safe and secure manner in compliance with company standards, processes, and procedures

  • Apply knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with desired/required outcome

  • Set priorities, forecasts, and allocates resources needed to complete work

  • Set vision and direction in the best interest of the department, Facilities organization and/or Sandia National Laboratories

  • Leadership, coaching, development, and mentorship of staff, ensuring clear understanding of the organizations expectations and address any concerns

  • Evaluate project staffing requirements, analyze problems, and communicate staffing needs

  • Manage employee development, performance, and discipline, as needed

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job

  • Demonstrable experience engaging in work requiring the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, especially in areas where a clear path is not identified. This may be from advanced education or relevant experience or both

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience leading, supervising and/or overseeing people for five or more years

  • Experience developing, interpreting, implementing, and changing, where needed, policies and/or operating practices

  • Demonstrated experience exercising decision-making authority related to cost, schedule and performance

  • Experience developing solutions related to issues of broad scope, complexity, and impact

  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders

  • Experience effectively interacting with all levels of internal and external customers, including the ability to build and manage effective working relationships.

  • Demonstrable ability to deliver results, effectively manage people, and guide multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience mentoring employees on work tasks and organizational requirements

Our team of operations personnel work together to support the entire breadth of Facilities functions at the CA site. We keep work flowing through the system by routing work to appropriate work groups; planning maintenance activities; procuring and managing materials to perform the work; ensuring contractual support is in place where needed; and improving process along the way.
