What Your Job Will Be Like:

Are you looking to join a dynamic team that solves issues vital to national security? If so, you could be the motivated Senior Manager (job title: Senior Manager, Site Operations (CA)) we seek to lead our Division 8000 Human Resources, Communications, Business Development, and W80-4/W87-1 Information Management and Technical Writing teams within Center 8100. The Senior Manager of 8170 contributes broadly to the Integrated Service Delivery strategy and teams with our mission partners that spans both the SNL/CA and SNL/NM sites. In this position you will have the opportunity to further the success of effective and efficient Human Resources, Communications, Information Management, and Business Development operations that enable Sandia’s missions.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of managers that intersect with all programs in Division 8000, which includes hiring, professional development, and performance management.

  • Oversee the strategic direction of the team, ensuring that the work and priorities are aligned to meet the needs of our mission partners.

  • Interface directly with the Division 8000 ALD, Deputy and Director Team as needed.

  • Address questions and solve challenges associated with a broad set of division and operational considerations.

  • Plan and provide oversight for 8170 indirect budget. Manage resource allocation across the Division.

  • Collaborate with key partners in Division 3000 and Division 1000 to create innovative solutions and assure alignment.

  • Lead and participate in infrastructure integration leadership projects.

This position is located at Sandia’s Livermore, CA site. Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location. Regular or periodic business travel will be required.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other relevant field plus ten or more years of experience; or equivalent experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job

  • Strong leadership and/or management background, including demonstration of many or all of the following knowledge, skills and abilities: strong teaming and interpersonal skills; strategic and creative thinking abilities; development of solutions that improve organizational performance; leadership of programs, projects, or processes that span multiple organizations; ability to deliver results, effectively manage people, and guide multidisciplinary teams; proven credibility and partnership with mission line organizations; demonstrated ability to lead leaders

  • Ability to react positively and creatively to a changing environment and to handle ambiguous and complex issues

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

  • Ability to travel as necessary

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Five or more years of demonstrated leadership and/or managerial experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or Communications/Journalism/Public Affairs

  • Knowledge of Division 8000 and the SNL/CA site

  • Subject matter expertise and experience in Human Resources, Communications, Information Management, or Business Development

  • Active DOE Q security clearance

We create transformational partnerships to provide services and solutions in support of Sandia's programmatic missions. Our responsibilities include Human Resources, Communications, Business Development, and Information Management and Technical Writing for the W80-4 and W87-1 programs.
