NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking Electrician (job title: General Maintenance Technologist) to perform preventive and/or corrective maintenance at our multi-building office and research facility in Livermore, California. Work includes performing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations of building systems, troubleshooting and repair, upgrades, and new construction as necessary.

Successful candidate will possess good customer service skills, good communication skills (oral and written), and able to keep accurate records/documentation, and must be able to diagnose electrical problems by studying diagrams, O&M manuals, specifications, and conducting diagnostic tests.

On any given day, you may be called upon to:

• Analyze schematics/wiring diagrams and blueprints on electrical systems

• Perform troubleshooting and repair of existing systems, upgrades, and new construction as necessary

• Perform scheduled and planned maintenance on building infrastructure systems

• Complete maintenance reports/documentation daily

Qualifications We Require:

• High school diploma plus five or more years of directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E)

• Selected applicants must have a valid driver's license and maintain a valid driver’s license during employment

• Selected applicants will be required to pass a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

• State electrician certified (CA preferred)

• High level problem-solving skills, extensive experience working with industrial electrical systems, and good communication skills

• Able to work independently and as part of a crew

• Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude

• Good customer service skills, communication skills (oral and written), able to keep accurate records, and effective time management

• Solid working knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems and equipment

Security Clearance:
