NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range:

$100,900 - $195,400

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are looking for an energetic individual to join our Facilities Management team as a Strategic Planner. Our fast paced, National Laboratory setting necessitates that the candidate be comfortable with ambiguity and variability of assignment and embrace the value of being in a service group. We seek a well-rounded candidate, adept at problem solving in a variety of settings.On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Lead and coordinate a broad set of initiatives spanning project development, physical campus planning and management, and infrastructure and investment planning

  • Lead and integrate project teams across a number of functions and disciplines

  • Assess building and site infrastructure issues, conceptualize potential solutions, make recommendations, and develop project plans

  • Create long-term capital improvement plans and develop project concepts for building and site systems

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture or other relevant field plus five or more years of relevant experience in facilities planning, execution, and/or operations

  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to coordinate teams across technical fields

  • Experience with project management approaches, tools, and all phases of the project lifecycle

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Master's degree in engineering or architecture

  • Ability to translate vision into robust action plans and follow through to completion

  • Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license in the State of California or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire

  • Knowledge and experience with International, National, and California Building Codes

  • Track record of successful delivery of complex, large-scale projects with numerous stakeholders from concept through construction

  • The ability to exercise initiative, as well as the acumen to manage and complete multiple priorities

  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, as well as an eagerness to conduct research to develop deeper understanding of technical subjects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of management

  • Flexible, adaptable, resilient, and tenacious with a propensity to persevere; able to work in ambiguous situations

  • Quantitative skills, particularly for infrastructure planning and requirements analysis

  • Knowledge and experience in facilities design, construction, and O&M industry best practices and standards

  • Experience in the tech industry, government laboratories, and/or federal agencies

Security Clearance:
