NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an experienced R&D Electronics Technologist to join a multidisciplinary team in designing and developing advanced electronic subsystems.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Build, modify, and repair a variety of electronic hardware, test equipment, and cables
Assist in conducting experiments, acquiring data and analyzing data
Track hardware and maintain calibration of test equipment
Support environmental (temperature, shock, vibration) testing
Design software for test equipment
Other responsibilities include:
Ability to create innovative solutions to difficult technical problems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation of test results and reports
Ability to work in team-oriented environment and work cooperatively with other internal organizations, as well as external production facilities
Qualifications We Require:
AS degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or similar technical field with at least two years’ relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
IPC Solder Certification and significant soldering experience with fine pitch surface mount components
Experience in reading and understanding circuit diagram schematics
Experience in a lab environment working with normal light electronics lab equipment (scopes, DMMs, pulse generators, etc.) to troubleshoot circuit boards and equipment
Ability to travel
Qualifications We Desire:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology (EET) or related field
Experience performing assembly and inspection of Electronic Assemblies
Experience with NI LabView
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (Mentor DxDesigner/Xpedition, Altium Designer, EAGLE)
Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance
