Sandia National Laboratories Electronics Engineer - Microwave & Sensor in Livermore, California
We are seeking a R&D Microwave & Sensor Engineer with background in communication, electromagnetics, electro-optical and sensor systems to join a multidisciplinary teams that are designing and developing advanced communication and sensing system for multiple applications. We are looking for engineers who can apply engineering principles and working knowledge to a range of communications and sensing problems that require imaginative and practical solutions. As a member of Sandia technical staff, each engineer will direct and perform engineering work while exercising independent judgment and actions. Engineers will be involved in all aspects of the development process of these system solutions, including design, simulation, system architecture, prototype definition, and subsystem and system-level testing. Specific functional responsibilities include but are not limited to design, simulation, and analysis of sensing and communication systems.
Ph.D in electrical engineering or applied physics with applied research background in communication systems, electromagnetics, electro-optical system or sensor system in general.
Familiarity and experience working with hardware design and development including embedded system design. Experience in developing electro-optical system for sensing solutions.
Our team develops advanced surety technologies for critical national security applications. Members of this department design, test and deploys advanced electro-mechanical systems for these applications. The department has a broad mix of skills and technical resources in embedded systems, communication, analog and digital circuits and mechanical design and analysis. The projects in the department range from early research and development to full-scale engineering development.
