Sandia National Laboratories Community Relations Specialist (Experienced) in Livermore, California
In close coordination with Community Relations in New Mexico, lead the community relations function in Livermore, CA. Organize, promote, and attend local events , elevating Sandia's profile in the community. Organize, promote, and lead site-wide corporate community efforts and projects, engaging the workforce as needed. In addition, as part of the communications team, create content to support community involvement efforts as well as other tasks as needed.
Builds, maintains and strengthens Sandia's relationships with surrounding communities, local and regional leaders, educators, civic groups, business organizations, and nonprofits. Develops and implements community involvement programs and events. Engages employees in community giving and volunteerism. Facilitates corporate community investments. Serves as an interface to respond to community inquiries. Enhances Sandia National Laboratories' reputation as a valued and responsible corporate citizen.
Projects a strategic presence into the local community. Proactively represents Sandia in the community, including participation and leadership with vital organizations. Identifies strategic opportunities for Sandia leadership to participate on community-based boards, committees, and other related organizations. Develops effective relationships with business, government, education, and community leaders to identify shared priorities and collaborative opportunities that benefit our missions and our local communities, and increase understanding of Sandia, its mission, and its workforce. Designs, develops, and implements programs and events to address regional needs and accomplish corporate community involvement objectives. Engages employees in a variety of corporate-sponsored and individual community giving and volunteer opportunities and recognizes employee contributions. Communicates Sandia's community involvement programs to internal and external audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience, or equivalent
- Excellent MS Office Skills
- Excellent writing skills and experience delivering public presentations
- Public speaking
- DOE clearance is not required to apply

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.
