NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range:

$86,600 - $143,000

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a creative and hardworking Business Operations Analyst to support project and financial management needs within the Computation and Analysis for National Security center. The Business Operations Analyst will collaborate with managers and technical teams to apply end-to-end project management rigor to an array of indirect and technical projects.

The selected candidate will partner with a diverse business team to support technical program leadership, project managers, principal investigators, and staff. In this role, you will collaboratively ensure quality delivery of all customer anticipated deliverables, internal and external assurance reporting, and financial management across a variety of national security projects. The ability to apply general business operations skills and financial concepts will be crucial for success.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Provide decision support to leadership on a broad range of business areas including financial planning, resource management, trends and projections, workforce acquisition planning, and business processes.

  • Work with the project technical leads to complete project management activities. Activities include project initiation, project plan development, project execution, project monitoring and controls, and project close outs.

  • Use quality and project management methodology and tools to provide detailed analysis and reporting.

  • Ensure consistency of business practices, quality standards, and project management processes across a diverse set of work within the program, and in alignment with customer and portfolio requirements.

  • Research, record, assemble, and evaluate project information or data and recommend sound, practical solutions to project related issues.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 50% of the time.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or other relevant field plus five or more years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree in Business or other relevant field plus one year of relevant experience; or equivalent experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.

  • Experience conducting budget formulation, budget execution, financial analyses, funding practices and/or fiscal administration.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance and SCI security clearance, which may require a polygraph.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Ability to work with a team and collaborate with others to solve problems.

  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, recommend potential courses of action, acquire agreement from partners and customers, and implement identified solutions.

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.

  • Knowledge of financial tools and systems to perform financial analysis and manage and monitor costs and budgets.

  • Ability to integrate with technical project teams and partner effectively.

The Computation and Analysis Mission Partner Department (8137) provides business solutions for the Computation and Analysis for National Security Center, which leads the computer science and information systems work and capabilities at Sandia's California site. Our team manages the suite of business requirements across the center including project management, project controls, financial management and operations support.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
