What Your Job Will Be Like:
Do you want to launch rockets from the Kauai Test Facility several times a year? Organization 05419, Kauai Test Facility & Remote Ranges, is seeking a qualified applicant to join our unique team as an R&D Electronics Technologist.
The selected candidate will support the fabrication, testing, and deployment of electronic range systems to support flight test missions for our customers.
The successful candidate will need to be self-directed, innovative, organized, and possess well-developed interpersonal communications skills.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Work in a team environment and provide support to department engineers.
Support sub-system and system level hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, qualification, and deployment projects.
Work with system level engineers/system owners to develop interface and compatibility definitions in support of range system development.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot technical systems in support of flight tests.
Travel is required for this position supporting ground and flight test fielding operations at remote ranges (~4-8 times a year, 1-3 weeks duration). Due to the nature of the work, this candidate must be able to work onsite.
Salary Range:
$70,200 - $135,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Associate’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or similar technical field with 1 year of relavent experience.
Experience with electrical/electronic design, fabrication, installation, testing, repair, and maintenance.
Experience reading schematics for electrical/electronic troubleshooting.
Active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or similar technical field.
IPC-A-610 Endorsement, or similar certification
Basic computer networking skills.
A willingness to complete required training and work around ordnance and explosives systems.
Knowledge and experience with Rocket Systems
Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret Clearance

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
