NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range:
$162,200 - $275,900
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like:
Sandia’s High-Security Operations Organization 5110 is seeking a Senior Manager to support the Field Intelligence Element (FIE) and Special Access Program (SAP) Physical and Program Security Group across NM, MN and CA operations. This management position will also fulfill the programmatic role of Deputy FIE Director for Physical and Program Security, working closely with DOE-IN 23 which is the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence Security Office. The selected individual will have broad protections knowledge in a high security environment. The individual filling this position must be a self-starter, comfortable partnering to solve complex issues with management across SNL, other government agencies (OGAs) and DOE-IN. FIE and SAP Special Security, Program Security, Physical Security, Assurance and Project Management responsibilities will fall under the authorities of this Senior Manager. This includes partnering internally to Sandia with respect to mission line organizations, facilities organizations, and corporate security for access control, facility and other safeguarding accreditations and requirements, device management and incident investigation.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills. This manager will need to build and maintain high trust relationships with laboratory leadership, peer managers, mission customers, DOE-IN, OGAs, and Sandia partners such as Corporate IT, and Corporate Cyber. The position requires close interaction with the FIE/SAP Physical and Personnel Security (5110) management team, the other High-Security Operations groups, and management across Sandia, leadership at DOE-IN, NNSA and OGAs, and other Field Intelligence Elements.

Ability to proactively plan and manage with excellence in a rapidly changing environment will be imperative to the success of the organization.
Ensure vulnerability analyses are conducted for program protection efforts, including identifying critical program information and evaluating and implementing mitigation strategies.
Ensure the policies, procedures and systems required for maintaining and enhancing overall security systems are implemented.
Establish strategic and tactical objectives and assign milestones and see them through to completion.
Regular travel to California, Washington DC and other FIEs will be required. Due to the nature of the work, the candidate must be able to work onsite.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor’s degree, plus ten (10) years of experience in a relevant physical security field.
Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated leadership and/or managerial experience.
Demonstrated ability to lead the management and delivery of highly regulated security environments.
Demonstrated experience leading, building and maintaining high performing teams.
Active DOE Q Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an SCI Clearance that may require a polygraph.
Qualifications We Desire:
Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguous requirements generation
Demonstrated comprehensive physical security knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to deliver results, effectively partner and manage people as well as build and guide multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in working with, preparing for, and responding to internal and external audits in security related fields.
Possess related certifications in physical security or safeguarding.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, including those that translate into leading a team of teams.
Understands the intelligence community and intelligence community requirements.
Experience in working Sandia mission programs that rely on FIE services.
Possess knowledge of Intelligence Community Directives.
Knowledge of project management, assurance and assessment activities, service delivery, change and configuration management, requirements management and risk management.
Experience in working with government oversight on facility and system accreditations and operations.
Understanding of technical risks and familiarity with mitigation approaches and techniques.
Active SCI.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
