NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range:
$101,400 - $201,400 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate¿s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

The Sandia Production team has mission responsibility for the production of technically complex, high reliability components in support of the nation’s nuclear deterrence (ND) strategy. The organization leads the negotiation and communication of production engineering requirements with ND customers and next-assembly NSE agencies: NNSA, Navy, and Air Force, Kansas City, Savannah River, Los Alamos, and Pantex. You will use knowledge of design and production engineering to be the primary representative for several ND technologies. This position offers significant opportunities to understand the inner workings of the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE), ND weapon programs, and Sandia mission-based technologies.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Serve as the primary representative to several ND component teams for ND modernization and stockpile programs through the negotiation, management, and delivery of production requirements for several technologies.
Establish positive relationships and collaborate with multi-functional teams including ND Systems, ND Production Realization teams (PRTs), and next-assembly NSE agencies.
Understand the components and production processes for multiple technologies.
Guide PRTs in meeting production requirements through the product lifecycle.
Initiate, develop, and execute systems and processes while applying engineering judgment on several technologies.
*This position is eligible for PT telecommuting, but also needs to be able to work onsite. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelors in a STEM field plus 5 years of related experience or Masters in a STEM field and at least one year of relevant experience.
Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE-Q- clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience with leading projects or programs through the Nuclear Deterrence system engineering lifecycle.
Detailed knowledge of and experience with designing and/or manufacturing systems, subsystems, or components.
Self-motivated to identify and implement productivity improvements.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with implementing Sandia policies impacting design, development, and production activities and projects.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a passion and talent for encouraging constructive working relationships with our customers and partners.
Demonstrated ability in anticipating customer and partner needs.
Strong oral, written, presentation, and negotiation skills and ability to work effectively in diverse team environments.
