The W93/Mk7 program is seeking a driven Systems Engineer to support the growing requirements needs during Phase 1/2 activities. The successful candidate will join a highly motivated, mission-driven team, able to work closely with technical staff, management, and customers to address various program needs. In addition, you will work closely with the W93 requirements lead as well as component organizations to develop the overall requirement's strategy for the program, to ensure all customer needs are being met.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Help develop the strategy and approach for requirements engineering for the W93 program

  • Assist the Requirements Lead in support of the Requirements Working Group (POG-level)

  • Support and prepare materials for requirements reviews, both internal and external

  • Interface and negotiate with component teams on derived and interface requirements

  • Develop and generate System and Component requirement documents

  • Assist with aligning system and component requirements and verification

  • Using tools to perform system modeling to derive requirements

  • Collaborate regularly with partners at Sandia, Los Alamos National Laboratories, Lockheed Martin Space, Applied Physics Lab, Navy Strategic Programs and the National Nuclear Security Administration

  • Work in both technical and leadership venues

    Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or science field plus five (5) years' experience; or Master’s degree in a related field plus one (1) year of experience; or Ph.D. in a related field; or thirteen (13) years' experience.

  • Experience with requirements engineering

  • Experience with ND component or system requirements.

  • Experience in at least one of the following:

  • Experience with modeling and Model-Based System Engineering approaches and tools

  • Experience using DOORS

  • Active DOE Q (or equivalent) security clearance is required to start

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
