NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range:

$88,600 - $172,300

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Document and implement test planning, test execution, and requirements verification at the weapon system level

  • Team across the laboratory to conduct complex system level environmental testing in support of design qualification

  • Troubleshoot and document test anomalies

  • Contribute to integration activities with other systems engineers and product realization teams

  • Prepare for technical reviews

  • Represent Sandia on multi-organizational project teams

This position requires the ability to travel on an as-needed basis

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field plus 2 or more years’ relevant experience; or Master’s degree in a related field; or equivalent related experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform independent research and development

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Experience designing and executing electrical tests, especially in Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-461 and/or 464 requirements and testing

  • Experience writing technical requirements

  • Experience working with SPICE and/or MATLAB simulation of electronic circuits

  • Strong communication skills (especially technical writing skills) and interpersonal skills

  • Active DOE Q-clearance or equivalent

Department 08261, System Environmental Qualification Testing, is responsible for developing and executing system level environmental tests in normal and abnormal environments in support of weapon modernization programs qualification.

Security Clearance:
