  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related field plus 2 years of experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline; or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in software design and development


  • Experience in object-oriented design and development
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate
  • Experience in a subset of the following: software engineering methodologies, agile development, user interfaces, databases, algorithms, data science, analytics.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
