What Your Job Will Be Like:
Would you like to join a dynamic facilities team responsible for delivering capital construction projects for Sandia? If so, you could be the experienced Operations and Engineering Lead we are seeking to join our team!
The Capital Acquisition Project Management Department is seeking an experienced Operations and Engineering Lead to support the construction of line-item building and infrastructure projects.
In this role, you can expect a fast-paced environment where you will support the execution of two (or more) large (>$100M) construction efforts.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Collaborate with a matrixed team of internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Line Customers, Contractors, Facilities Managers, and other Internal/External Stakeholders to support the execution of line-item projects in accordance with DOE Order 413.3B.
Support various assurance and reporting efforts; on boarding efforts, acquisition planning and procurement efforts; financial planning and budgeting efforts; internal and external communication efforts; lastly, Earned Value Management training and certification efforts.
Research, evaluate, and implement solutions to complex line-item challenges.
Work across line-item projects to ensure consistent project execution.
Coordinate with the CapAx Program Management Organization to develop processes, procedures, tools, and templates to support the execution of line-item construction projects.
Interact with Federal Projects Directors (FPD), M&O Peers, and other Subject Matter Experts on CapAx standards to ensure alignment with complex-wide best practices.
Coordinate work with Project Managers, Control Account Managers (CAMs), Construction Managers, and additional members of the work force.
This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline plus five (5) years relevant experience; or Master's degree in relevant field plus one (1) year of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
Current Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certification.
Familiarity with continual improvement best practices.
Experience with DOE Order 413.3b.
Experience with Sandia’s procurement, financial, and project management tools and procedures.
Excellent communication skills to accurately articulate the needs, deadlines, and risks to internal team members and external partners.
Visibility into the processes of Sandia’s mission support organizations that interface with Capital Projects.
Ability to see ‘big picture’ across the labs’ systems to ensure relevant stakeholders are engaged to interface at the correct stages of the project.
About Our Team:
The Capital Acquisition Project Management department is responsible for the execution of capital construction projects within the overarching portfolio that meet the requirements of DOE O413.3B.
