Sandia National Laboratories Intern- Supply Chain Systems R&D Undergraduate Year Round in Albuquerque, New Mexico

We are seeking an Intern Year Round - R&D Undergrad

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work in teams to participate in research and analysis of technical solutions for enterprise IT solutions
  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain existing and new technology for several corporate applications

Required:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

Additional Requirements:

  • Pursuing an Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

Desired:

  • Familiarity with GIT version control
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, automated unit tests, automated integration tests, automated build and release)
  • Strong teamwork and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, ITSM, and other IT quality processes and methodologies
  • Familiarity with container and container orchestration technologies like Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with Scrum and/or Agile methodologies

Department Description:

Enterprise Information Systems Group is a highly integrated team of departments focused on delivering enterprise software and system solutions. The focus is on cost-effective and reliable solutions, customer agility and performance, broad impact across Sandia, and an agile organization. The group is responsible for the design and development of an innovative long term application strategy, architecture and roadmap that will enable Sandia through the next 15-20 years. Core capabilities include all aspects of software engineering and COTS integration. The organization employs a rigorous product development and deployment process, and staff members are expected to drive process improvements through adoption of new techniques and industry best practices. The group applies scientific theories and engineering methods used within software engineering disciplines to develop or demonstrate innovative designs, concepts, architectures, processes, systems, or leading edge transformational projects using disruptive technologies and approaches that substantially shift the operating paradigm and provide a positive impact.
