What Your Job Will Be Like:
Organization 10575, Strategic Partnership Projects and Inter-Entity Work Agreements, within the Chief Financial Officer Center, is seeking a year-round student intern with at least one year remaining in their graduate studies to join their team! The selected candidate will support our Interagency Agreement Specialists in their duties to accept funds into the Sandia Laboratories from other federal agencies outside of the Department of Energy.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Perform analysis on the incoming interagency agreements (contracts) to determine if terms, conditions meet the requirements to do business with the DOE/NNSA and advise the Agreement Specialists of the results of the analysis.
Be responsible for presenting an acceptable agreement to the DOE/NNSA Contracting Officer for signature or partner with Sandia project teams to address any gaps or needs in order to be able to accept the funds on the agreement.
Communicate with Sandia project team representatives to gather the details of their projects in order ensure their documentation in the corporate system is complete and will enable an efficient review and acceptance of an agreement. The details of the project may also be utilized to complete an agreement close-out.
Participate in training and mentoring activities in order to learn the federal and organization specific regulations pertaining to the interagency agreements (contracts) that we facilitate for Sandia.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Qualifications We Require:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
Earned bachelor's degree
Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited graduate program
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizenship
Qualifications We Desire:
Previous working experience in customer service and/or roles requiring contractual type relationships
Prior work experience that relies heavily on ability to communicate effectively through writing
The ability to rapidly produce analyses on subject research and to enable management decisions in various media, styles, and formats

Agreements with non-DOE/NNSA entities, known as Strategic Partnership Projects (SPP), are a key component of Sandia's strategy to meet our national security missions. We implement processes for acceptance of non-DOE/NNSA funding that enable Sandia project teams to perform technical work, while also meeting the DOE/NNSA compliance requirements for these engagements and performance for other sponsors. We provide integrated services for Strategic Partnership proposals and agreements.We also facilitate acceptance of orders with other DOE/NNSA facilities. These contracts are known as IEW's (Inter-Entity Work) and while not technically SPP, many of the same specialized SPP knowledge and process apply.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
