We are seeking a Intern Year-Round R&D Undergraduate to join our dynamic team
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Work on systems/subsystems-level design, assembly and test in support of our SAR systems that include board level design through system level integration and test
Perform work that may cover a wide range of activities including mechanical design tasks, aircraft integration design work, and electromechanical system testing and troubleshooting in support of SAR system development and deployment
Perform design analysis, interface design & assessment, integrated system test planning, and configuration management
Apply the fundamentals of science and engineering while gaining a deep understanding of engineering and scientific principles
Conduct testing and analysis of SAR systems/component performance
Work as part of a high performing, passionate, multi-disciplinary team
Work closely with other staff, both inside and outside the department, to support interesting and innovative work in technology development, test planning and execution, interpret results
Salary Range:

Our pay structure is based on earned credit hours, classification, and degree level. Your pay rate will be determined during the hire process and included in your offer package. Qualifications We Require:
You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:
Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
U.S. citizenship
Qualifications We Desire:
Planning on pursuing an advanced degree in degree in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or relevant discipline
Strong debugging/problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills and be creative based on project needs
Strong interpersonal, and partnership skills with the ability to communicate and work with teams in a high functioning environment
Desire to work in an environment with staff, technologists, and support personnel
Self-starting initiative combined with an ability to take broad direction and implement technical activities without detailed guidance or oversight
Experience in engineering design (taking an idea from concept through demonstration and/or delivery)
Ability to independently resolve technical issues and develop innovative approaches to provide solutions to a diverse range of problems
Eagerness to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and the ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearance

Center 5300 provides key electronics systems deliverables to a wide variety of programs across Sandia (including nuclear weapons, space, intelligence and military systems) and also directly manages the Surveillance and Reconnaissance (S&R) Program.

Security Clearance:
