What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking an undergraduate mechanical, electrical, quality or other engineering summer intern to work alongside the mission assurance team for the various hypersonics programs we support.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Create and/or updated technical work documents to include assembly procedures, test procedures and center policy around mission assurance.

  • Review procedures to incorporate redlines and administrative changes.

  • Support mission assurance personnel, such as Product Engineers and Qualops Techs with review of drawings and documents to support non conformances or change requests.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related undergraduate program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer

  • U.S. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position.

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Familiarity with CAD design tools such as Solidworks or Creo.

  • Familiarity with PLM Tools such as PDMLink Windchill and Aras/AEMS.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products.

  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, attention to detail, and critical thinking with minimal guidance.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated abilities to work independently and to succeed as a member of a team.

The Mission Assurance Organizations provides support for the Hypersonic Programs within the Integrated Military Systems Program at Sandia. 5400 coordinates the development of Mechanical, Electrical, and Avionics flight technologies to be integrated and tested with industry partner support to provide flight solutions for missiles and hypersonic flight platforms.

Security Clearance:
