Intern - Logistics Operations - Business Undergraduate Year-Round

What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Year Round - Business Undergraduate Intern to support various business operations in Logistics at Sandia National Laboratories. Logistics is active in identifying candidates with relevant academic and work experience in an effort to provide valuable internships, build a pipeline for possible future regular employment, and to meet near-term project deliverables. Candidates are expected to team with others to support Sandia's mission by adding value, improving operations, offering innovative solutions and appropriately managing risk for the corporation.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Provide analysis and recommendation for business decisions

• Work with technical partners to find solutions for their business needs

• Manage a supply chain business need

• Provide assistance in managing project schedules or budget

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

• Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited undergraduate program

• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

• Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

• U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

• Experience providing excellent customer service experience

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with team members and independently with minimal supervision

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience leading projects and/or team initiatives

• Experience working in a business area such as: Budgeting, Accounting, Project Management, Audit, Supply Chain

• Demonstrated strong, organizational, critical thinking, and technical writing skills

• Demonstrated leadership outside of academics, including student organizations and community service

About Our Team:

Shipping, Packaging and Mail Services, 10261-1, is responsible for the Shipping core process within Logistics Operations.

Provides regulatory guidance for all types of shipments to include hazardous, nonhazardous, classified, and unclassified. The team specializes in packaging processes, procedures, and packaging fulfillment through the WebShipper application. The Mail Services team provides daily pickup and delivery of mail and document processing of all incoming and outgoing classified mail.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
