What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Year Round - Clerical Union Undergraduate Intern to join our dynamic team!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Assist Administrative professionals in secretarial and clerical work for the organization managers and staff.

  • Prepare a variety of documents, including correspondence, reports, presentations etc.

  • Review, edit and format documents, and assist in processing paperwork in accordance with SNL policies and procedures.

  • Follow all procedures for the filing and maintenance of classified or sensitive documents and records.

  • Enter and maintain data and respond to requests for information under the purview of the OAA.

  • Coordinate and schedule meetings; manage meeting minutes.

  • Assist in the maintenance of manager's calendar as requested.

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of incoming and outgoing visits, badge requests, DBIDS, and passing of clearances,

  • Welcome and receive visitors, and escort as needed

  • Procure supplies and equipment as requested, by ordering JIT through Oracle

  • Assist the Training coordinator and Property Coordinator

  • Assist in mail distribution to include packages

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve (12) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0

  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance

  • Experience working in office environment

High-Security Operations performs high-impact, national security work for a broad segment of the Intelligence and Special Access Communities. The HSO Special Security Office protects the information of our customers by providing a secure environment that allows Sandia to deliver products and services that protect our nation's security. The HSO Special Security Office is responsible for interpretation and oversight of security requirements, to include physical security, access controls, facility accreditation, incident investigation, and clearance management. The HSO Cyber Security Operations Department also manages, facilitates, and supports all elements of cyber security and information assurance for the Sandia FIE, Intelligence Community (IC), and Special Access Program areas of the DoD and NNSA. The HSO Cyber Security Departments manage, facilitate, and support all elements of cyber security and information assurance for the Sandia FIE, Intelligence Community (IC) and Special Access Programs.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
