Sandia National Laboratories Intern - Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) Clerical Union Undergrad Year Round in Albuquerque, New Mexico


We are seeking an undergraduate clerical year round intern, who will provide clerical support to the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) administration, management, and staff.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Perform data entry and information gathering
  • Re-stock and supply cabinets/supply rooms
  • Order supplies for staff and Office Administrative Assistants
  • Order water for each floor
  • Assist with move arrangements for new staff
  • Submit Destruction tickets for burn bags in supply room on each floor
  • Assist with reapplication tickets
  • Assist with Travel Requests
  • Assist with Conference Room reservations
  • Assist with updating daily calendars for conference rooms, focus rooms, project rooms
  • Update Staff Information Badge cards
  • Schedule meetings
  • Run errands
  • Assist with vehicle maintenance, gas, emissions, car washes, etc.
  • Take vehicles to and from Fleet Services for maintenance


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0
  • Ability to work up to 25 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
  • U.S. citizenship

As a condition of employment, the selected candidate will be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU), which requires monthly membership dues or agency fees. New hires into an OPEIU represented position will remain in the initial position for twelve (12) months before being eligible to be considered for other Sandia employment.

Department Description:

The Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies (CINT) is a DOE/Office of Science National User Facility operated jointly by Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories with facilities at both Laboratories. The Nanostructure Physics department is dedicated to establishing the scientific principles that govern the design, performance, and integration of nanoscale materials into microscale and macroscale systems and devices.

Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy (DOE)-granted security clearance.

Sandia will conduct a pre-employment drug testing, and a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U.S. Air Force background screen for access to the work site.
