What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a motivated, high-performing year-round graduate student intern to join a team of engineers responsible for aircraft interface testing, interface performance data collection and analysis and aircraft platform-to-weapon end-user certification.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the development of online and blended training solutions for a newly initiated On the Job training program.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Partner with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering Subject Matter Experts.

  • Create lesson plans (Lesson Design Documents) that describe the structure, content, and media presentation for a unit of learning.

  • Create lesson outlines that describe the lesson structure, high-level content, and initial media descriptions.

  • Organize content into a sequence of topics to create a lesson that aligns with the learning/training/performance objective(s).

  • Create story boards that provide content hierarchy, navigation instructions, text, media descriptions, scripts (narrative, video, and animation), and programming notes while adhering to applicable style guides and standards.

  • Build interactive and engaging courseware using eLearning authoring tools.

  • Revise lessons as needed.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Earned bachelor's degree

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in a related accredited graduate program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

  • Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer

  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field: Education, Adult Education, eLearning, Instructional Design, Graphic Arts, or similar

  • Experience with Articulate Storyline software

  • Experience developing instructional courseware, lesson plans, or curriculum in a technical environment

The 07237-1 Team, Aircraft Compatibility Operations, is a newly formed team tasked with establishing and enforcing consistent, high-quality, and efficient business and technical processes, procedures, and tools to support Aircraft Compatibility certification and re-certification efforts.

Security Clearance:
