What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a graduate Optical/Physics summer intern to join our dynamic team. We are an organization that specializes in designing, testing, and flying flight hardware to a variety of government entities.

On any given day you may be called on to:

  • Work in a laboratory setting with optics and optomechanical equipment.

  • Design, assemble, and calibrate radiometric and spectroscopic instrumentation.

  • Deploy radiometric and spectroscopic instrumentation for observation of various events.

  • Perform data reduction and analysis in collaboration with technical staff.

  • Provide calibration and data reviews to the senior members of the technical team.

Qualifications We Require:

You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

  • Earned bachelor's degree

  • Currently attending and enrolled full time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or scheduled to graduate in the spring) in an accredited related graduate program

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0

  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer

  • U.S. citizenship

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Familiarity with analysis tools such as MatLab or Mathematica

  • Academic or hobby experience with basic optical equipment

  • Familiarity with lab testing and experimentation

  • Familiarity with lab machinery and practices

  • GPA of 3.3/4.0 or higher

About Our Team:

The Advanced Concepts and Mission Payloads department is focused on defining advanced technology concepts and future target mission requirements in support of Missile, Air and Space Defense programs. Additionally, the department tests concepts both experimentally and in flight to deliver modeling and simulation truth data, while providing mission payloads in support of Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System.

Security Clearance:
