Are you passionate about solving challenging issues for the nation's security? Do you have a strong attention to detail? If so, you may be the highly motivated Technologist we seek. You will work with key partners across the Neutron Generator (NG) Enterprise to support electromechanical test equipment.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Partner with engineering staff to document their equipment needs in a formal bill of materials.
Identify and order commercial equipment that meets the engineers' requirements.
Partner with Sandia procurement groups and Manufacturing Liaison to generate and assess quotes for custom hardware when no commercial off-the-shelf solution exists.
Track tester equipment once received from the manufacturer.
Maintain safe and efficient engineering operations of a Tester Development Laboratory.
Eight years of experience in manufacturing; OR equivalent combination of education and work experience in manufacturing.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Active DOE Q clearance.
Experience conducting engineering activities in laboratory and manufacturing environments.
Ability to identify and order engineering parts from a complex bill of materials.
Familiarity with procurements, such as purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and purchasing cards.
Knowledge of machine shop operations and fabrication of custom components.
Experience performing receipt inspections and resolving non-conformances.
Ability to establish a tracking system for orders outstanding and orders received.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and formal presentations.

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
