What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a motivated Fire Protection Operations and Engineering Lead to work with customers and facility partners to define, develop, and engineer facility process system requirements and resources. This position will be responsible for direct execution of projects, improvement activities, and support of the Corporate Fire Protection Program to enable mission function and performance!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Design, develop, and document facilities work processes to include primary inputs, outputs, and expected work methods.

• Analyze process design to reduce costs, improve work efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and performance.

• Conduct Fire Protection assurance activities including audits, assessments, and corrective actions.

• Drive and sustain maturation of the fire protection records management systems, processes, and procedures, and lead continual improvement efforts.

• Plan and direct engineering and technical resources for facilities requirements related to fire protection.

• Provide leadership and tactical planning for implementation of projects and apply engineering or other technical knowledge to achieve project objectives.

• Identify potential facilities operational risks, develop risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions, and recommend risk acceptance or avoidance for facilities operations.

• Develop metrics to assess programmatic health and make data driven decisions.

• Recommend addition, expansion, or discontinuation of projects for the Corporate Fire Protection Program.

  This position is eligible for telecommuting and the selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.

Qualifications We Require:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or other relevant STEM field.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Qualifications We Desire:

• Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant STEM field plus three (3) years of demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: process design, quality, fire protection, assurance, facilities management, and risk management.

• Understanding of DOE Fire Protection Program activities.

• Experience using Maximo and SAGE systems.

• Ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple and competing assignments.

• Proven ability to work in a team-focused environment and exercise discretion.

• Strong writing, systems thinking, communication, facilitation, presentation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to make decisions requiring scientific or engineering judgment.

• Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions.

• Knowledge of the technical or operational field of the assigned facilities area of responsibility.
