What Your Job Will Be Like:
Are you passionate about your work and dream of using innovative facilities to deliver solutions? We are seeking a Team Lead, Facilities to join our team!
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Manage the execution of activity level work performed by mechanical represented employees. Schedule and assign work.
Team with the maintenance planning department and ensure that “the right work at the right time” is being planned and implemented.
Ensure that all technical work documents are being adhered to.
Ensure that all Environmental, safety, and Health requirements are being adhered to and that work is being done safely.
Work closely with operations engineers, technologists, project managers and construction managers.
Perform necessary administrative duties such as timecard approvals, employee evaluations, resolve behavioral issues, address grievances, perform annual employee evaluations, approve timecards, etc.
Serves as first responder to analyze and assess system condition during outages and after hours; and coordinates and directs a response team to make the system operational.
Provides system operation and reliability data to system engineers, ensuring reliability and performance, and recommends technical improvements to processes.
Work with peers to develop streamlined processes to enhance maintenance functions.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100%.
This position requires spending significant amounts of time in the field in order to accomplish many of the duties outlined above.This position also requires selected candidates to be rotated into the swing shift hours and periodically perform on-call duties during non-standard hours.
Salary Range:
$95,400 - $157,500
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline plus five (5) years of relevant exempt work experience; OR equivalent combination of relevant education and experience in the mechanical trades
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
Experience working in the HVAC industry.
5 to 10 years’ experience working with a Work Planning and Control system such as Maximo.
5 years’ experience as a supervisor, team leader, or foreman; working with represented personnel and collective bargaining agreements.
Experience working with clean room HVAC systems.
Knowledge of, and experience working with, the Sandia National Laboratories Emergency Operations Center.
Journeyman license, Associate’s degree, Bachelor degree, Master’s degree, or PhD. Knowledge of Sandia National Laboratories policies and procedures.
Experience with built-up air handling systems, chilled water loops, chillers, and heating water systems.
About Our Team:
Department 4844, Mechanical Services, operates and provides preventive and corrective maintenance for mechanical systems associated with buildings and infrastructure systems at Sandia-NM. This department also provides heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) control, via the Facility Control System, to select buildings at Sandia-NM and Sandia-CA.

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
