NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

What Your Job Will Be Like:

Organization 03643, NW Information Management & Technical Writers, is currently seeking a highly motivated, organized, proactive, and experienced Information Management Professional (Document Management Specialist) to join their team!

The selected candidate will disseminate and follow consistent documentation processes and procedures, and version control practices across all environments to assure uniform releases to the proper location.

Successful candidates will communicate regularly with Program leads regarding documentation due dates and update POCs when document distribution occurs.

On any given day, one may be called upon to:

  • Create and maintain team file structures

  • Shepherd technical documentation to release via PDMLink and PRIME

  • Communicate/collaborate/share information with external partners (NNSA/LLNL) or facility partners

  • Lead special projects designated by mission management

  • Track and update action items for supported organizations

  • Operate alongside technical teams, providing proactive support in meeting the Programs Information Management requirements

  • Liaise with mission partners to identify and assist in finding appropriate support services

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) resource by becoming/being knowledgeable of the technical areas that are supported

  • Correctly practice within required classification parameters while being knowledgeable on the handling of classified documentation

  • Attend technical, tag-up, and tier meetings to track action assignments and gain release information and knowledge

  • Work in PDMLink, storing, distributing, archiving information, and updating documents

  • Apply the Information Release process and understand when to submit documents for review

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 80% of the time.

Qualifications We Require:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a relevant field, plus 5 years directly related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job

  • Experience with data and document management

  • The ability to acquire and maintain a SIGMA15

  • The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • A Master's degree in Business Administration or a relevant field

  • The proven ability to lead and help organize meetings and work successfully in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment

  • Experience in high consequence environments (e.g., DOD, DOE, NNSA, etc.)

  • Proven experience in configuration management best practices as related to information and document management

  • Software experience with Microsoft, Word, Excel, and Power Point, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and PDMLink and PRIME

  • Experience in mentoring and teaching others in tools and processes to help engineering teams keep documentation on track

  • Experience working with internal and external customers, including DOE, NNSA, etc., and working in a matrix environment

  • Experience working and leading technical staff to organizational success

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (technical) as well as excellent presentation and editing skills

Organization 03643 provides information management and technical writing support to the W80-4 LEP and B61-12 LEP engineering and testing teams. Department Information Managers serve as the creators and gatekeepers of documentation needed to meet nuclear weapon, mission partner, quality engineering, and legacy requirements. Information managers use multiple tools, methods, and repositories to regulate the flow and integrity of information created and distributed in support of program needs. Technical writers research, write, and edit documentation ranging from complex documents and reports to manuals and other materials.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Salary Range:

$65,300 - $125,400
