What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Infrastructure and Asset Management department (7573) is seeking an IT Database Engineer to design, create, deliver, and secure next generation technical information solutions for the nation's nuclear deterrence lifecycle. This department provides equipment, facilities, maintenance, and support for center 7500.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Manage delivery and support of custom center systems.
Write and edit activity reports, analytical reports, and other program-related documentation as required
Find opportunities to automate data extraction from these reports/documents
Identify, support, and implement improvements to manufacturing systems
Develop and cultivate trust-based relationships with partner organizations internal and external to Sandia
Willingness and ability to undertake occasional business travel to support growth and improvement of services provided to 7500
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 80% of the time.
Qualifications We Require:
BA degree plus 5 or more years of experience in database reporting and analytics development
Experience in software design, development skills, and familiarity with modern software development practices, frameworks, and tools
Experience in Data Management
Experience with SQL
Active DOE Q clearance (or equivalent) required to start
Qualifications We Desire:
History of successfully leading multi-functional, multi-discipline teams to a successful Information Technology (IT) project outcome
Knowledge in understanding and applying cyber security to new solutions/technology
Experience working with Sandia Manufacturing
Neutron Generator Enterprise Knowledge (Processes, Compliance, Strategy)
Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to research, evaluate, recommend, architect and define possibly complex requirements, implement, and support strategic software solutions with various systems technology and hardware
Experience with data visualization solutions
About Our Team:
Neutron Generator Operations Management Operations Management, Department 7573, enables the Neutron Generator Enterprise (NGE), Center 7500, to succeed by understanding their unique businesses, and promoting Lean Six Sigma solutions to their diverse activities. Our specialized innovative expertise incorporates lean principles and capabilities, provides agile and proactive capabilities in Equipment Lifecycle Management, Calibration and Maintenance, Process Improvement Equipment and ES&H.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
