Our 15,000 scientists, engineers, technicians, and support personnel work daily on projects that ensure that a peaceful and prosperous world is possible.
Our Mission: To render exceptional service in the national interest, is more than a statement of values – it defines our commitment to the nation and the world to embrace a diverse and inclusive culture that sees only opportunities for collaboration, not boundaries, and to leverage that ethos to advance the United States’ position as global leader and innovator.
To support this mission, we are seeking multiple mission analysis data scientists with a passion for applying an interdisciplinary mindset to solve complex issues of importance to national and global security. These roles offer exciting growth and leadership development opportunities as an integral part of successful delivery of our missions.
Our data scientists are at the forefront of evaluating the performance and efficacy of our missions ensuring the nation’s nuclear deterrence infrastructure operates at a high level of reliability. You can expect to do the following:

Conduct varying technical duties, including modeling and simulation, data fusion, signal processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, physics, engineering, and data management and visualization.
Develop and apply foundational physics, sensing systems, and algorithmic understanding to high consequence systems. A strong existing understanding of classical and electromagnetic physics is critical to success in this position.
In addition, on any given day you may be called on to:
Assess current and future system mission performance through modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques, implementing software solutions to aid in said analyses.
Apply understanding of complex systems to analyze, test, and characterize mission capabilities of detection systems.
Design and implement high-fidelity test, research, and development endeavors for current and future systems.
Apply engineering methods, tools, and techniques and technical judgement to design, maintain, and improve processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products.
Present and document results to peers, program leads, and customers to inform actions/investments.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Our work is broad in character – much like the missions we serve – and we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds and work experiences. We also strongly encourage candidates with backgrounds in other areas of the sciences and engineering with significant data science experience to apply.
