What Your Job Will Be Like:

Organization 7588 is seeking a Software Technologist to join our dynamic team. Our teams of engineers have a deep understanding of designing, building, and maintaining complex testers and are looking for a highly motivated and talented teammate. If so, you could be the highly motivated, Software Technologist we seek. You will work with key partners across the Neutron Generator (NG) Enterprise to troubleshoot and maintain tester software for automated test equipment. You will be working with a diverse set of disciplines including software engineers, electrical engineers, systems engineers, mechanical engineers, and system surety engineers, supporting the nation’s nuclear deterrent.

On any given day you may be called on to:

  • Work in a highly integrated team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to deliver automated test equipment to production floors.

  • Contribute to software (SD, CD, TK, AM) and other key artifacts (MP, AF, LD, TK).

  • Support engineers during development, troubleshooting, qualification, and other activities.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to maintain awareness of expected processes and procedures.

  • Support LabVIEW software maintenance and troubleshooting activities on the production floor, on new tester designs, and other project implementations

  • Participate in computer builds, networking, periphery interconnections, and other physical computing configurations (including the OS, applications, imaging, chassis, storage, sw configuration, data reports, etc.)

  • Facilitate changes to tester equipment and software setup

  • Aid in project equipment selections

  • Create software flow diagrams, equipment block diagrams, and other drawings

  • Run tests

  • Collect data

  • Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or relevant STEM field plus (5) years relevant experience or Associates degree in a technical field plus ten (10) years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q level clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Active DOE Q Clearance.

  • Proficient experience in LabVIEW

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with automated hardware and software test engineering

  • Understanding of Project Management principles and Software Enabled System Development Lifecycles

  • Familiarity with hardware and software requirements generation for verification, validation and qualification

  • Ability to work across a variety of engineering and science subject areas to integrate a complete system across hardware, software, mechanical, and/or other fields

  • Written and verbal communication including the development of documentation, procedures and other EA documents

  • Understanding of systems, components, processes, and tools within the nuclear weapons enterprise.

  • Dedication to continuous improvement, including Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

    Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Security Clearance:
