NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Product Definition Tools and Resources department is seeking a Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technologist to support the Nuclear Deterrence MCAD Library validation / modernization Program in an effort to meet mission standards.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Validate/maintain CAD-based military grade and commercial library hardware
Validate/maintain library product structure
Develop/maintain library processes
Create library objects per manufacturers specifications
Validate/maintain auxiliary library objects
Qualifications We Require:
Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other relevant field; or high school diploma plus four years of experience
Experience using Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) solid modeling application software or equivalent
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
10+ years of MCAD Design Experience
Experience using CREO Parametric CAD Software
Knowledge of GD&T and ECAD
PDMLink Experience
Four years relevant experience related to an engineering or scientific environment.
Proven interpersonal skills, both oral and written within a technical setting.
Experience in applying fundamental design principles that relate to product design and manufacturing.
Experience in working with system, subsystem, or component design to support a major project or program.
Experience in applying Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to engineering drawings.
Experience interpreting numerous types of specifications
Experience using Windchill PDMLink and other configuration management tools.
Proven track record of demonstrating initiative and obtaining results.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
Active DOE Q-Level Security Clearance

The Product Definition Tools and Resources organization delivers common configuration management tools and resources that demonstrate industry standard methodologies, modern applications, and NW-specific requirements and standard methodologies to assure consistent and high-quality engineering product definition to Sandia design/engineering staff.
