  • PhD in computer science, physics, mathematics, or closely related engineering discipline

  • Experience with numerical algorithms relevant to plasma simulation, particularly hybrid kinetic/fluid methods

  • Scientific programming experience in C++

  • Experience with modern/next-generation high-performance computing architectures and relevant programming techniques (e.g., Kokkos, CUDA)

  • Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q clearance

Qualifications We Desire:

  • Background in mathematics and algorithms for electromagnetics, plasma physics, fluid dynamics, or related disciplines

  • Knowledge of plasma applications relevant to Sandia, e.g., pulsed power

  • Demonstrated ability to work with others and contribute in a dynamic team environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness to be flexible and develop expertise in different areas of electromagnetics or plasma physics
