If so, organization 03512, Health Plans, Administration, Open Enrollment, is currently seeking a highly motivated Benefits Analyst to join their diverse and dynamic team charged with developing creative solutions for designing, implementing, and managing Sandia's Benefits!
This position supports the health plan teams’ business rhythm work and various pivotal initiatives related to health plan design & administration. This organization is responsible for the following benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, Rx, COBRA, HRA/HSA, dependent eligibility audits, voluntary benefits, vendor payments, communication/education, compliance documents, and other related responsibilities.
On any given day, one may be called upon to:
Manage vendor contracts, including managing the procurement process, drafting SOWs, reviewing contracts, and reviewing agreements
Lead projects related to benefit programs
Support data warehouse reporting and provide any budget support by assessing vendor invoices and charged tasks
Provide HRIS system conversion support as needed (e.g. testing).
Assist with benefit audits and reviewing/responding to customer service tickets
Coordinate and collect industry surveys for benchmarking and implement industry trends to ensure plans are competitive, cost effective, and align with DOE policy
Support the regular review of plan documents and summary plan descriptions, as well as internal audit requests for data and justifications
Partner with and support the team with various projects such as annual open enrollment events and other programs
Review and update procedures
Provide benefit related content for communications and websites
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a relevant field, plus 5 years employee benefits related experience; or a Master's degree in above, plus 1 year employee benefits related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
The ability to acquire and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance
Direct job related experience with conducting requests for proposals and vendor selection processes
Direct job related benefits administration experience with organizations with more than 5,000 employees
SHRM and/or CEBS Certification
Experience using Oracle/PeopleSoft, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
The Health Plans Department strategically develops/designs, implements, and administers Sandia's health plans, such as active and retiree medical, dental, vision, prescriptions drug, HRA/HSA, FSA, annual open enrollment events, and other related benefits and programs. The department also supports the Corporate Employee Benefits Committee (EBC), the Employee Benefits Claims Review Committee (EBCRC), and provides support during collective bargaining periods.

This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
