Are you passionate about people and benefits? We are seeking a high-energy and highly motivated Benefits Analyst (Limited Term Employee) to join our diverse and dynamic team charged with developing creative solutions for designing, implementing and managing Sandia Benefits.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Administer health and welfare benefits, FMLA, paid leave programs, long term disability, voluntary benefits, recognition, and COBRA.

  • Prepare required reports and disclosures for leadership and regulatory authorities; provide planning and cost information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing benefit data and trends.

  • Manage and track financial information and provide financial analysis of standard and ad hoc requests of benefit costs and utilization.

  • Lead highly visible projects providing recommendations and presentations to leadership.

  • Handle and audit benefit vendors to ensure contract performance requirements are met.

  • Lead internal procurement process for benefit contracts, including developing statements of work, technical requirements and assist in final contract selections.

  • Partner with key stakeholders including management, HR Solutions, compensation, human resources business partners, payroll, finance, legal, procurement and IT.

  • Provide advanced Benefits Center of Expertise (COE) support and interpret plans to support ERISA appeals.

    Required:

  • Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years or more of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

  • Experience with benefit policies, practices and/or procedures.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE L - level security clearance.

    Desired:

  • Five or more years of directly related experience with healthcare, benefits administration, defined contribution and/or defined benefit plans.

  • CEBS certification or other related benefit certification programs; SHRM and/or HRCI certification(s).

  • Intermediate knowledge of and experience with data and financial analysis.

  • Experience with procuring and managing employee and retiree benefit vendor contracts.

  • Demonstratable ability to successfully handle and complete multiple projects, deliver results and effectively lead people to positive outcomes.

  • Strong analytical/critical thinking skills to identify deficiencies, develop strategies and resolve complex issues.

  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Security Clearance:

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
